OBEDIENCE IN A WORLD OF OPTIONS

DAY 11 — OBEDIENCE IN A WORLD OF OPTIONS

Scripture
John 14:21
Luke 6:46
1 Samuel 15:22

Reflection
We live in a time where “truth” is often treated like a menu—something to select based on preference. Social media, online teaching, and cultural voices constantly suggest that faith can be customized.

But Jesus does not offer customization. He offers Lordship.

“Why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?” (Luke 6:46)

In a culture where people change convictions as easily as opinions, obedience feels outdated. Yet Scripture has never changed its standard.

Saul tried to redefine obedience in a “reasonable” way. He still looked spiritual. He still used religious language. But God rejected partial obedience.

Today, it is easy to attend church, share Christian content, and still resist obedience in private life—relationships, integrity, purity, forgiveness, or pride.

Jesus makes it simple:

“Whoever has My commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves Me.” (John 14:21)

Love is no longer theoretical—it is visible in action.

Application
Where have I replaced obedience with religious activity or selective faith?

Prayer
Lord, remove selective obedience from my life. Make me consistent in following You even when culture suggests otherwise.
