Growing Together

Day 15 — Growing Together

Scripture:

“And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.” — Acts 2:42

Reflection:

In Acts of the Apostles 2, the early church begins to grow after Pentecost. Thousands believe in Jesus (Acts 2:41). What do they do next?

They devote themselves.

They learn together.

They pray together.

They eat together.

They share life together.

Discipleship is not a solo journey.

God never designed spiritual growth to happen alone. Proverbs 27:17 says, “Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.”

When we walk with others, we grow stronger. Others see blind spots we cannot see. Others encourage us when we are weak. Others remind us of truth when we forget.

Hebrews 10:24–25 tells believers not to neglect meeting together, but to encourage one another.

Discipleship grows in community.

Observation:

• They were devoted — growth requires commitment.

• Teaching and fellowship were both important.

• Prayer was central to their life together.

• God added to their number (Acts 2:47).

Life Application:

Are you trying to grow alone?

Do you have people who sharpen and strengthen your faith?

Discipleship deepens when we walk with others who also want to follow Christ.

Prayer Prompt:

Lord, surround me with people who help me grow. Help me be that person for someone else.

Action Step:

Reach out to one believer today. Pray together or encourage one another in Scripture.
