Not Following Personalities

Day 9 — Not Following Personalities

Scripture:

“What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you believed.” — 1 Corinthians 3:5

Reflection:

In First Epistle to the Corinthians 3, the church was divided. Some said, “I follow Paul.” Others said, “I follow Apollos.”

Paul corrects them. He reminds them that leaders are servants. God is the One who gives growth (1 Corinthians 3:6–7).

Discipleship is not loyalty to a personality.

It is loyalty to Christ.

Leaders matter. Teachers matter. Pastors matter. But none of them replace Jesus.

When discipleship becomes centered on a person instead of Christ, division follows.

Healthy leaders point away from themselves and toward Him.

Observation:

• Leaders plant and water.

• God gives the growth.

• The foundation is Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 3:11).

Life Application:

Have you placed a leader too high?

Have you allowed your faith to depend on someone else’s personality?

Discipleship stands firm when Christ is the foundation.

Prayer Prompt:

Father, keep my heart centered on Christ alone.

Action Step:

Thank God for the leaders in your life — but also thank Him that Jesus is your true foundation.
