Not Control, But Care
Day 10 — Not Control, But Care
Scripture:
“Not that we lord it over your faith, but we work with you for your joy.” — 2 Corinthians 1:24
Reflection:
In Second Epistle to the Corinthians 1, Paul explains his leadership. He makes something clear: he does not control people’s faith.
He works with them.
Discipleship is not about control. It is about care.
Leaders guide. They teach. They correct. But they do not force faith.
Only the Holy Spirit changes hearts (John 16:13).
When discipleship becomes controlling, it produces fear. When it is Spirit-led, it produces joy and growth.
Strong leadership is humble leadership.
Observation:
• Paul refused to dominate faith.
• Leadership works for joy, not power.
• The Spirit guides into truth (John 16:13).
Life Application:
If you lead others — at home, church, school, or work — do you guide or control?
True discipleship builds up. It does not push down.
Prayer Prompt:
Lord, make me a leader who builds people up with truth and love.
Action Step:
Encourage someone you lead today. Speak life, not pressure.
