FIXED HOPE, STEADFAST FAITH
THE CHRISTMAS REVELATION
An Invitation to Share the Light
A December 20 – January 1 Devotional Journey
Based on my book The Twenty-Five Days of Christmas
DECEMBER 31:
FIXED HOPE, STEADFAST FAITH
Scripture Reading:
1 Timothy 4:10 (KJV)
10 For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.
Devotional:
The final day of the year invites honest reflection. We look back on moments of joy and sorrow, victories and losses, faithfulness and failure. Yet Scripture redirects our focus—not to what we have accomplished, but to where our hope is fixed.
Paul reminds us that the Christian life is not free from effort or hardship.
We labor.
We endure.
We persevere.
But we do so with confidence—not in ourselves, not in circumstances, and not in the promise of an easier tomorrow—but in the living God.
Our hope is not abstract or uncertain; it is alive, active, and faithful.
Hope fixed on God steadies us when outcomes are unclear.
Steadfast faith does not deny difficulty; it trusts God within it.
As the year closes, we acknowledge what we cannot carry forward and release what no longer serves God’s purpose in us.
This moment is not about regret—it is about resolve. We step forward not because the future is predictable, but because God is dependable.
The same Savior who entered the world at Christmas now carries us into what comes next.
As the final hours of the year pass, we anchor our hearts in truth: God has been faithful, God is present, and God will remain our hope.
Reflection
What are you releasing as this year ends, and where are you fixing your hope for the year ahead?
Closing Prayer:
Faithful God,
As this year comes to an end, we pause in gratitude. Thank You for sustaining us through every season—for Your presence in joy and Your strength in struggle.
We release what needs to be left behind: regret, fear, disappointment, and anything that keeps us from trusting You fully. We fix our hope on You alone—the living God who saves, sustains, and leads.
Strengthen our faith as we step into the unknown. Remind us that our future rests securely in Your hands. May our hope remain anchored, our trust unwavering, and our hearts surrendered.
We close this year with gratitude.
We step forward with faith.
We trust You completely.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
