Renewed Confidence
Day 17 – Renewed Confidence
Scripture Focus: Philippians 1:6 (KJV)
“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”
How God Renews Our Confidence
1. Confidence Is Rooted in God’s Faithfulness, Not Our Performance
Biblical confidence is not self-confidence—it is God-confidence. Paul’s assurance rests not in human consistency, but in God’s character. What God begins, He sustains. What He initiates, He completes.
In today’s performance-driven culture, confidence often rises and falls with results. When confidence depends on success, it collapses under failure. God renews confidence by shifting our focus from our reliability to His faithfulness.
“Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.” (1 Thessalonians 5:24)
2. Growth Is Ongoing, Not Instant
Renewal reminds us that spiritual formation is progressive. God works through seasons, processes, and refinement. Confidence grows when we understand that transformation takes time.
Many grow discouraged because they expect instant maturity. Scripture reframes growth as a journey. God’s patience with us invites perseverance, not shame.
“The path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.” (Proverbs 4:18)
3. Doubt Often Comes From Forgetting God’s Past Work
When we forget how God has already been faithful, doubt fills the gap. Renewed confidence remembers. Reflection strengthens assurance.
In modern life, forward pressure often causes us to overlook past grace. God renews confidence by calling us to remember—not just where we are going, but how far He has already brought us.
“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.” (Psalm 103:2)
4. Confidence Strengthens Endurance
Confidence does not remove difficulty—it stabilizes us through it. When confidence is anchored in God’s work rather than our circumstances, endurance becomes possible.
Renewed confidence empowers us to continue growing even when progress feels slow or unseen.
“Let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” (Galatians 6:9)
