Renewed Freedom
Day 16 – Renewed Freedom
Scripture Focus: Galatians 5:1 (KJV)
“Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.”
How God Renews Our Freedom
1. Freedom Is a Finished Work, Not a Future Goal
Scripture does not say Christ will make us free—it declares that He has made us free. Freedom in Christ is accomplished through His work, not our effort. Renewal begins when we stop striving to earn freedom and start standing in what Christ already secured.
In today’s world, freedom is often confused with self-expression or lack of boundaries. Biblical freedom is different—it is the ability to live unhindered by sin, fear, or shame. True freedom is not doing whatever we want; it is becoming who God created us to be.
“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” (John 8:36)
2. Freedom Must Be Guarded Intentionally
Paul warns believers not to become “entangled again.” This reveals that freedom can be compromised—not because Christ’s work fails, but because old patterns reassert influence.
Today, bondage often returns subtly—through habits, mindsets, or lies we tolerate. Renewal requires awareness and intentional resistance. Freedom is maintained through daily alignment with truth.
“As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” (Proverbs 23:7)
3. Bondage Often Begins in the Mind Before It Appears in Behavior
Many struggles that feel external begin internally. Lies believed eventually shape choices made. God renews freedom by renewing the mind, replacing false narratives with truth.
Modern culture normalizes destructive patterns by renaming them. God restores freedom by calling them what they are—and offering grace, truth, and transformation.
“Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.” (Romans 12:2)
4. Freedom Is Sustained Through Truth and Obedience
Freedom flourishes where truth is practiced, not just believed. Obedience protects freedom by keeping our lives aligned with God’s design. What we repeatedly submit to gains authority in our lives.
God renews freedom by teaching us to walk daily in truth-filled obedience rather than occasional resistance.
“Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:32)
