TRUE GREATNESS REDEFINED
DAY 27 — TRUE GREATNESS REDEFINED
Scripture
Mark 9:35
Matthew 20:26–28
Philippians 2:3–5
Reflection
Culture defines greatness through influence, power, visibility, and success.
But Jesus completely redefines it.
“If anyone would be first, he must be last of all and servant of all.” (Mark 9:35)
This reverses everything the world teaches.
Greatness in God’s kingdom is not about being served—but serving.
“The Son of Man came not to be served but to serve…” (Matthew 20:28)
This is countercultural in every generation, but especially today, where self-promotion is constant.
Paul calls believers to this mindset:
“In humility count others more significant than yourselves.” (Philippians 2:3)
This requires intentional humility, not natural instinct.
Application
Where is pride shaping how I view myself compared to others?
Prayer
Lord, shape me into a servant-hearted follower of Christ.
