WHEN FAITH BECOMES PERFORMANCE

DAY 13 — WHEN FAITH BECOMES PERFORMANCE

Scripture
Isaiah 29:13
Matthew 6:1
Revelation 2:4

Reflection
In a performance-driven world, even faith can become performance.

We are constantly watched—likes, comments, approval, and perception shape behavior more than we realize.

Jesus warned about practicing righteousness “to be seen by others.”

That warning is more relevant than ever in a digital age where even spiritual life can become content.

“These people honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me.” (Isaiah 29:13)

The danger is not just hypocrisy—it is gradual emotional distance from God while maintaining spiritual appearance.

Even churches today can drift into activity without intimacy, programming without presence, and noise without transformation.

Jesus calls it what it is:

“You have left your first love.” (Revelation 2:4)

Not rejected—left.

Application
Is my relationship with God shaped more by appearance than intimacy?

Prayer
Lord, bring me back to sincerity. Remove performance from my faith and restore a genuine relationship with You.
