Serving Like Jesus

Day 18 — Serving Like Jesus

Scripture:

“For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” — Mark 10:45

Reflection:

In Gospel of Mark 10, the disciples argue about who is greatest (Mark 10:37). Jesus answers by redefining greatness.

Greatness in the kingdom is service.

Jesus had all authority. Yet He washed feet (John 13:5). He gave His life.

Discipleship is not climbing higher.

It is bending lower.

Philippians 2:5–8 tells us Jesus humbled Himself and became obedient to death on a cross.

If we follow Him, we follow that path.

Servant hearts reflect Christ most clearly.

Observation:

• The world seeks status.

• Jesus modeled service.

• Humility leads to true greatness (Mark 10:43–44).

Life Application:

Do you serve only when it is noticed?

Do you seek position more than people?

Discipleship grows when pride shrinks.

Prayer Prompt:

Jesus, give me a servant’s heart.

Action Step:

Do one act of service today that no one else may notice.
