INTEGRITY

Walking What God Has Taught You

Theme

A teachable heart eventually becomes a transformed life. What God teaches within us should become visible in the way we walk.

Pause

Yesterday, David prayed:

“Teach me Your paths.”

Today, the question changes.

What happens after God shows us the path?

Eventually, we have to walk it.

Psalm 26 is not the prayer of a perfect man. It is the prayer of someone who wants his private heart and public life to agree.

Before reading, ask:

Does the life I am living reflect the truth I say I believe?

Prayer

Father, examine me. Search the places others cannot see. Show me where my actions, motives, words, and beliefs are out of alignment. Give me integrity—not perfection, but a heart increasingly undivided before You. Let what You are teaching me become visible in how I live. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Scripture

Today’s Psalm invites us to bring our entire lives before God and ask Him to examine whether we are walking in integrity.

Psalm 26 (ESV)

I Will Bless the Lord

Of David.

Vindicate me, O Lord,
for I have walked in my integrity,
and I have trusted in the Lord without wavering.

2 Prove me, O Lord, and try me;
test my heart and my mind.[
a]

3 For your steadfast love is before my eyes,
and I walk in your faithfulness.

4 I do not sit with men of falsehood,
nor do I consort with hypocrites.

5 I hate the assembly of evildoers,
and I will not sit with the wicked.

6 I wash my hands in innocence
and go around your altar, O Lord,

7 proclaiming thanksgiving aloud,
and telling all your wondrous deeds.

8 O Lord, I love the habitation of your house
and the place where your glory dwells.

9 Do not sweep my soul away with sinners,
nor my life with bloodthirsty men,

10 in whose hands are evil devices,
and whose right hands are full of bribes.

11 But as for me, I shall walk in my integrity;
redeem me, and be gracious to me.

12 My foot stands on level ground;
in the great assembly I will bless the Lord.

Read It Again

Notice David’s willingness to be examined.

He does not merely say:

Look at what I have done.

He says, in effect:

Look inside me too.

Ask yourself:

  • What does this Psalm reveal about God’s heart?

  • Am I willing for God to examine my motives?

  • Where is there inconsistency between what I believe and how I live?

  • What influences are shaping me?

  • What would walking in integrity look like today?

Pursuing His Heart

Today’s Revelation of God’s Heart

God’s heart delights in truth that reaches beyond our words and becomes visible in our lives.

Integrity comes from the idea of wholeness.

Undividedness.

The same person in public and private.

The same convictions when people are watching and when no one is.

David asks God to test him.

That is a courageous prayer.

We often ask God to examine everyone around us.

David begins with himself.

Examine me.

Prove me.

Test my heart.

Psalm 25 said:

Teach me.

Psalm 26 says:

Now examine how I am walking.

That is spiritual growth.

God’s truth was never intended merely to become information we collect.

It should become character we embody.

A heart after God’s own heart increasingly becomes a life that looks like His.

Seeing Jesus

Jesus lived with perfect integrity.

There was no gap between His teaching and His life.

No hidden contradiction.

No private compromise.

We cannot achieve His righteousness through our effort, but through Christ we receive grace and the Spirit begins forming His character within us.

Grace does not make integrity unnecessary.

Grace makes transformation possible.

Truths to Hold Onto

  • God cares about motives as well as actions.

  • Integrity means becoming increasingly undivided.

  • God’s truth should become visible in our behavior.

  • Healthy spiritual growth welcomes examination.

  • Jesus is both our righteousness and our example.

Life Application

Where is the greatest gap between what you say you believe and how you are currently living?

Walking Deeper

  • Psalm 139:23–24 — David again invites God to search and lead him.

  • Proverbs 10:9 — Integrity creates a secure way of walking.

  • James 1:22 — God’s Word is meant to be practiced, not merely heard.

Prayer Prompt

Lord, examine me. Reveal anything within me that does not reflect Your heart. Give me courage to change what You expose and grace to become increasingly whole before You. Amen.

Today’s Step

Ask God one uncomfortable question:

“Lord, where does my life contradict what I say I believe?”

Do not defend.

Listen.

Then respond to whatever He reveals.

❤️ Heart Check

Head

What truth do I already know that I need to practice?

Heart

Where am I tempted to live divided?

Hands

What act of obedience would bring greater alignment today?

Reflect. Evolve. Lead.

Reflect — Integrity begins when I allow God to examine me before I examine others.

Evolve — God’s truth transforms me as I move from knowing it to living it.

Lead — Today I will lead consistently, allowing my actions to reinforce the values I profess.

Carry This With You

Truth becomes transformation when what God teaches your heart begins shaping the way you walk.

Tomorrow’s Journey

Today you asked God to examine your walk.

But living faithfully does not mean life suddenly becomes easy.

Tomorrow, David faces enemies, uncertainty, and fear.

Yet Psalm 27 gives us one of Scripture’s great declarations:

“The Lord is my light and my salvation.”

Integrity prepares us to stand.

Tomorrow we’ll learn where that confidence comes from.

Until tomorrow…keep walking with Him.

One Daily Journey. One Psalm. One surrendered heart. One step closer to His heart.
