A New Identity

Day 18: A New Identity

Scripture:
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” — 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV)

Reflection:
The cycle continues as long as you see yourself the same way.

Because identity shapes behavior.

If you see yourself as stuck… you will act accordingly.
If you see yourself as defined by your past… you will repeat it.

But in Christ, identity is not repaired—it is replaced.

You are not an improved version of who you were.

You are made new.

That means your past is not your anchor.
Your failures are not your definition.
Your patterns are not your identity.

And yet, many people continue to live from who they were—
Even after God has declared something new.

Breaking the cycle requires more than believing God can change your life.

It requires believing He has changed you.

Observation:
Identity determines behavior.
In Christ, identity is made new—not improved.
Living in freedom requires believing what God says about you.

Life Application:
Are you living from your old identity—or your new one in Christ?

God, help me see myself the way You see me. Let my life reflect the new identity You’ve given me.
