Scripture:
“What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.” — Ecclesiastes 1:9 (NIV)

Reflection:
There is a frustration that comes from realizing you’ve been here before.

Same struggle.
Same pattern.
Same outcome.

You told yourself it would be different this time. That you had learned enough, grown enough, changed enough.

And yet—here you are again.

Ecclesiastes doesn’t just describe the world; it exposes the human condition. Left to ourselves, we don’t just experience cycles—we repeat them.

Not because life lacks opportunity, but because the heart remains unchanged.

We often try to fix external patterns without addressing internal roots.

So we change environments… but not habits.
We change strategies… but not surrender.
We change goals… but not the deeper drivers within us.

And the result?

Different circumstances—same cycle.

The phrase “nothing new under the sun” is not meant to produce despair, but awareness.

Because what cannot be fixed from the outside must be transformed from the inside.

God does not just offer improvement—He offers renewal.

Not a better version of the same cycle… but a new way of living altogether.

Observation:
Repetition often reveals unresolved roots.
External change cannot fix internal cycles.
True transformation begins within.
