Serving Instead of Striving

Day 45: Serving Instead of Striving

Scripture:
“Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant.” — Matthew 20:26 (NIV)

Reflection:
The world defines influence through status.

God defines it through service.

You don’t rise by being seen.

You grow by serving.

Serving shifts your focus:

From yourself…
To others.

And in doing so, it breaks the subtle cycle of self-centered living.

Because the more your life becomes about others, the less you are trapped in your own patterns.

Service is not a step backward.

It is a step into purpose.

Observation:
God defines greatness through service.
Serving shifts focus outward.
Purpose grows when self-focus decreases.

Life Application:
Where can you serve instead of striving for recognition?

Scripture Connections:
Philippians 2:3–4 – “Value others above yourselves…”
Galatians 5:13 – “Serve one another humbly…”
Mark 10:45 – “The Son of Man did not come to be served…”

Prayer Prompt:
Lord, help me serve with humility. Shift my focus from self to others.

Action Step:
Do one act of service today without expecting recognition.
