Living Above the Cycle
Day 20: Living Above the Cycle
Scripture:
“Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above… Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” — Colossians 3:1–2 (NIV)
Reflection:
You may still live in the same world.
But you are no longer bound to the same perspective.
“Under the sun” is not just a place—it’s a mindset.
It’s seeing life as temporary, self-contained, and limited to what is visible.
But in Christ, you are invited to live from a different vantage point.
Not ignoring reality—
But interpreting it through eternity.
When your mind is set “above,” something shifts:
Temporary problems lose their dominance.
External pressures lose their control.
Internal peace becomes more stable.
You are still in the world.
But you are no longer defined by it.
The cycle begins to break when your thinking begins to rise.
Observation:
Perspective determines experience.
Eternal thinking reshapes temporary living.
Freedom begins in how you think.
Life Application:
What would change if you viewed your current situation through an eternal perspective?
Scripture Connections:
Romans 12:2 – “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind…”
2 Corinthians 4:18 – “Fix our eyes not on what is seen…”
Philippians 3:20 – “Our citizenship is in heaven…”
Prayer Prompt:
God, lift my perspective. Help me see beyond what is temporary and live from what is eternal.
Action Step:
When faced with a challenge today, ask: “How does eternity change how I respond to this?”
