Growth Takes Time

Day 12 — Growth Takes Time

Scripture:

“And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” — Philippians 1:6

Reflection:

In Epistle to the Philippians 1, Paul reminds believers that God finishes what He starts.

Discipleship is not instant maturity.

Just like a tree grows slowly, spiritual growth takes time.

Jesus spent three years walking with His disciples. They misunderstood Him. They argued. They failed. Peter even denied Him (Luke 22:61–62). Yet Jesus restored him (John 21:15–17).

Growth includes failure. But failure does not cancel calling.

Galatians 6:9 says, “Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”

God is patient. We must be patient too.

Observation:

• God begins the work.

• God continues the work.

• God completes the work.

• Growth happens over time.

Life Application:

Are you discouraged with your progress?

Are you impatient with someone else’s growth?

Remember: God is still working.

Discipleship requires patience — with ourselves and with others.

Prayer Prompt:

Father, thank You for not giving up on me. Help me trust Your timing.

Action Step:

Encourage someone who feels stuck in their growth. Remind them that God is still working.
