Rooted and Built Up

Day 26: Rooted and Built Up

Scripture:
“…being rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.” — Colossians 2:7 (NIV)

Reflection:
Paul highlights three markers of growth:

  1. Rooted – firmly planted in Christ

  2. Built up – growing in structure and character

  3. Strengthened in faith – resilient in trials

Growth is active. Spiritual maturity produces thankfulness, not self-righteousness. Deep roots make you unshakeable; continual building produces endurance; and faith strengthens through daily reliance on God.

Observation:
Rootedness produces stability.
Building produces growth.
Thankfulness confirms maturity.

Life Application:
Are your roots deep, or do life’s winds sway you? Begin building intentionally in faith and thankfulness.

Scripture Connections:
Ephesians 3:17 – “…being rooted and established in love…”
Psalm 1:3 – “…like a tree planted by streams of water…”

Prayer Prompt:
Lord, root me deeply, build me up, and strengthen my faith so I may overflow with gratitude.

Action Step:
Spend 10 minutes journaling about ways Christ has strengthened and rooted your life, thanking Him specifically.
