Rescued from Darkness

Day 16: Rescued from Darkness

Scripture:
“For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves…” — Colossians 1:13 (NIV)

Reflection:
Spiritual growth begins with understanding where we were before Christ. Darkness represents sin, confusion, and separation from God. Growth in Christ starts with gratitude for rescue—not entitlement.

Being brought into Christ’s kingdom means:

  • Our identity is now in Him

  • Our authority is under God, not sin

  • Our allegiance shifts from the temporary to the eternal

This truth fuels hope and courage. You are no longer controlled by fear, failure, or worldly pressures. Your life is now under Christ’s loving reign.

Observation:
Salvation is a rescue mission.
Growth begins with recognizing the shift from darkness to light.
Kingdom living transforms identity and allegiance.

Life Application:
Where are you still living as if you are in darkness rather than under Christ’s kingdom? Acknowledge God’s rescue today.

Scripture Connections:
1 Peter 2:9 – “But you are a chosen people…called out of darkness into His wonderful light.”
John 8:36 – “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”

Prayer Prompt:
Lord, thank You for rescuing me from darkness. Help me live fully in Your kingdom, embracing the freedom and authority You provide.

Action Step:
Reflect on one area where darkness—fear, sin, or doubt—still has influence. Pray specifically for God’s light to fill that space.
